Off to New York and HD goodness

I'm headed off to New York City for about a week. Me and the VideoMonkey will be rocking the World Cyber Games US Open on Saturday and Sunday at the Samsung Experience Store. It's open to the public, so come by and check out the action if you're in Manhattan.

Then on Monday the Major joins us to rock the Pac-Man World Chanmpionships. Finalists will be flying in from all over the world to compete for the grand prize, and once the champ is crowned we'll be kickin it old school with an 80s party.

While I'm on the plane, why don't you go download Red v Blue Season Two.... It's been re-done in HD! Also coming tomorrow is America! F*ck Yeah! ---I mean Team America: World Police. It too, is in glorious, puppety HD.

    TriXie haters rejoice!

Hey you can now hate my voice on Major Nelson's latest podcast, and you can hate my hair, my face and ohhhhh...just everything about me in the video from mine and VideoMonkey's trip to the Sasquatch Music Festival. (and I reveal a hidden talent)

And for you history fans, check out Gamertag Radio's 100th episode. There's a snippet of the first time my voice from hell was made public!

Three Things that Rock My World

Here are a trio of awesome things that I just can't keep quiet about:

    1. "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" by Lemon Demon. Check the little animation version here and prepare to wet yourself.

    2. National Geographic stuff on Xbox Live Videomarketplace. OMG 3 Shark specials? SuperCroc? Tornados, Tsunamis, Volcanos and JFK? Oh mama, I'm in neurotic insomniac HEAVEN.

    3. New Amy Winehouse CD Back to Black. She's like a dirty Patsy Cline, or Lily Allen's older and even more bitter sister. How can you not love a woman who comes up with a new variation on the F word? (See track 3 - "Me & Mr Jones")

P.S. I finally found a new dude to be my Xbox.com bitch. He starts Tuesday!

    Xbox All-Nigher this weekend!

Hey, we haven't burned the midnight gaming oil since.... last month when we rocked the new Halo 2 maps from dusk til dawn.

This time it's Gears, baby. I've got some sweet Gears of War art books to give away too.

    We have a winner!

I'm pleased to announce that 16-year-old Zach AvatarZ Wesley from Chandler, Arizona is the winner of the My Mom's a Gamer contest. He won Mother's Day flowers for his mom, and an Xbox 360 Elite for himself. Here's an excerpt from his winning essay:

"My mom is the one standing in line at Gamestop at midnight waiting for Halo 2 so I could get some sleep and get up early to play it before school.  My mom is the one who suggested we camp out in front of Best Buy waiting for a 360 even though we could have had one on reserve because it would be more fun camping out and it would be a cool memory (she was right).  My mom is the one who has the date marked on her calendar when the Halo 3 beta starts and asked if I wanted to take a day off from school to play it."

Thanks to the more than 2,600 gamers who entered the contest! There were lots of great essays, but only one could win.

Please, don't send me any more hate mail about how you should have won. Let's be good sports okay?

    200 hours of Zuma!

Holy crap. I just checked my 360s blog and learned I passed the 200 hour mark for Zuma. I beat it for the 20th time over the weekend. I really don't know what's wrong with me. I know I promised I'd stop after I beat it in HD...but I just couldn't.

I've even been thinking about making a t-shirt that says "Interloper of Puny" Please help me.

Update: pearljam just pointed out that Zuma has cost me 5 cents an hour. That's a lot of bang for my buck! However he then pointed out I have spent the equivalent of 8 full days shooting marbles out of a frog. Way to kill my buzz, dude.

    TriXie's Mailbag - Part 2

Here are answers to some recent emails I've received at xlmail@microsoft.com.

    • Thanks for your interest, but the Xbox Live Arcade Party sweepstakes was A YEAR AGO. The Points are gone and the pizzas have been eaten.
    • I'm sorry to hear about your lost job/sick kid/bad luck, but I don't have any Xbox 360 Elites to hand out.
    • No thanks, I have plenty of Xbox Ambassadors right now.
    • While I appreciate that you are 'desperate' to get into the games industry, we hire a janitorial staff to sweep our floors. Try getting a Computer Science degree.
    • Thanks for your email. I regret I do not understand Spanish/German/French/Korean.
    • Because Europe has its own Marketing department who run their own events and contests. It's not because we hate you.
    • No, I don't know why Xbox Live has not launched in your country. It's not because we hate you.
    • I agree that it's fun to get things for free. However our stockholders would not be very happy if we gave away everything gratis.
    • I'm not recruiting Xbox Ambassadors right now.
    • No, I don't know when Video Marketplace is coming to your country. It's not because we hate you.
    • No, I don't know when your favorite show is coming to Video Marketplace.
    • While I appreciate the great service that Ambassadors provide, I can not expand your friends list/give you a watermark/give you a special gamerpicture/give you a free Xbox Live subscription/get you into the Halo 3 friends and family beta/make you a star.
    • Try calling 1 800-4MY XBOX.
    • Check out www.microsoft.com/careers
    • Yeah events do tend to be in New York or Los Angeles. I can't predict when or if there we be an event in your town. It's not because we hate you.
    • Wow I'm so happy you added me to your Facebook/Tagged/Linked In/Whatever site. Now go away.
    • No I will not kick someone off my Friends List to add you. It's not because I hate you.
    • I have enough Xbox Ambassadors, thanks.
    • Use the Report tool.
    • I'm sorry you had to see that. Please file bad feedback.
    • GamerchiX Ladies Night is not like Frag Doll Friday. It's for the girls to play each other.

    Games for GI's

In honor of Memorial Day, the lads over at XBL Radio are trying to gather together a bunch 'o games to send to the soldiers overseas. It's a very cool idea. They're aiming for 50 games, but I say we go for 3, 351. That's the number of American troops killed so far in Iraq.

And please, let's send 'em good games. The last thing those poor guys and gals need is Bullet Witch.

    More Pac-Man videos!

You might have caught one of these on Kotaku today. If not, here are three pretty funny (I think) videos with our favorite yellow ball. http://www.xbox.com:80/en-US/games/p/pacmanlivearcadexbox360/worldchampionship/pacfanaticvideos.htm crap i still haven't figured out how to hyperlink on my MacBook. Or how to make paragraphs. Grrrrrr :(

    The 200th Gamer Spotlight!

It has been a long road from the very first Gamer Spotlight on Locksley in January 2003. But here it is... number 200!

    TriXie, TriXie, TriXie and Pac-Man

Check out this video that Xbox365.com posted. A yellow ball I know went all Mariah Carey on me when I tried to interview him.

Also check out a couple new interviews I did with ZaamIT and VoLcOmKiDd911.
