I can't figure out how to hyperlink on my mac. Sad panda. Top 25 Gamertags for MarchSo long, March... Hellloooooo the top 25 gamertags served up on Xbox.com. (GamerchiX are starred for my own amusement)
MS Points and Alyssa Milano FTWMan you guys are downloading the crap out of Alyssa on Video Marketplace. I actually have seen Poison Ivy with Drew Barrymore 3 times, but have never sampled the delights of Poison Ivy 2. So I guess I'm going to have to see it for myself. Here's what IMDB has to say abou the plot:
Lily is a sheltered art student from Michigan going to school in California. She finds an apartment and her roommates aren't quite normal. One day she finds a box of items belonging to a girl she's never met before. But in the box are nude pictures of the girl and her diary. Lily begins reading the diary and realizes that she's going to change her life and become a wild woman! She begins dating a guy and at the same time her art instructor begins to lust after her. The struggle begins when her boyfriend thinks she's unfaithful to him and her art teacher becomes obsessed.
But before I download PI2, first I had to load up on MS Points. I LOVE that I can do that right here at work on Xbox.com!! Sign in to Xbox.com's MY Xbox, choose Edt Profile and go nuts. March 29 Major Nelson - boxers or briefs?Find out the answer to this question and many more in this video interview with the Major. You might want to get a beverage...it's eleven minutes long.
Most of the questions came from the community. Some came out of my warped little head. BTW, VideoMonkey filmed us recording a podcast, so the entire interview with ALL the questions will be available soon for your audio pleasure...or pain.
Game with Shia LaBeoufWho? No, it's not the oldest Cosby kid. Shia LaBeouf played Keanu's sidekick in Constantine. He's also starring in the upcoming flick Disturbia--which looks like Rear Window for the ADD set.
Anyway, Shia's gonna be rocking Gears of War on April 1. If you want to curb-stomp an up and coming actor, send an email with your name and gamertag to ShiaGWF@microsoft.com by 3:00 P.M. Eastern (12:00 P.M. Pacific) on Friday, March 30. Selected gamers will receive a confirmation e-mail and friend request with the time of the event and Shia's gamertag.

Xbox team farts, runsCheck out my interview over at loot-ninja.com. Here's a sample:
drunk pandas: What’s it like working with and interviewing some of the biggest minds in the video game industry on a daily basis?
TriXie: Hmm, well to you they may be the biggest minds in the industry, but they’re just regular—if ubersmart—guys to me. It’s hard to be in awe of guys that fart in your office and then run away.
No Xbox Live Panty RaidThe guys here have been up all night working on the maintenance. I went home to watch The Departed (love it! It's the Irish Goodfellas!) but they were here pulling an all-nighter in the Xbox frat house.
I felt a little left out, so when I got in this morning I asked a very sleepy and bedraggled e if they had any fun without me. He said no. Apparently it was all hamsters and work ... no strippers, no tequila shots, no panty raids. There's not even a horse in Robbie Bach's office. How disappointing.
March 26 La miss Trixie...en francaisCheck out my interview with LERESISTANT over at live360.fr. It's in English below the French. Even after 5 years of French (and I used to tutor les cretins) I can't understand the comments. I hope they're not nasty!
btw, one of the commenters called me "la miss trixie" March 24 Go hug your dadLast night my stepfather, Joe Winterhawk, passed away. He was a victim of early onset Alzheimer's, and it took eight, long tragic years of terrible decline to finally end. In his younger days he was a WSU frat boy, then a nuclear physicist. He loved to sail with my mom on their Columbia 42. He loved good food and wine. His customary toast was "To the Good Life." In the last year he was reduced to wearing diapers and being unable to speak, feed himself or recognize his family.
When Joe started dating my mother I was a rude and snotty 11 year old brat. Joe never was nasty in return. Instead, he always saw the good in me. When I grew up I realized that he made my mom happy, and that's all that mattered.
If your dad is still around give him a big hug. If he's far away, give him a call. If he lives close by, take him out for a cheeseburger and have a nice long talk. Thank him for loving and supporting you and teaching you how to get along in this world.
Thank you to the good people at Bessie Burton Sullivan Skilled Nursing Center and Mercer Island Care Center for taking care of Joe in his final year and a half. The people who do this work are saintly beyond belief. March 21 Interview with BaldSnailYou've seem him mentioned here before...the poor sap who has to work for me AND share an office with me. Now you can learn what makes the snail tick.
Check out Jared in the Gamer Spotlight. P.S. his new favorite band is Prostitute Disfigurement.
Just look at him hiding his face in shame... March 17 300 Rules!I saw 300 last night with my favorite buddy XShadowSandmanX. It was soooo good. Best movie I've seen in ages. Man was Xerxes a fa-reak or what?! I was awash in a sea of washboard abs... it was delightful. Extra creepy/cool was the surround sound bloodsplatter sound effects. Yeesh. Then seeing as we were in a Frank Miller groove we watched Sin City on DVD, and noticed a remarkable similarity between the Hot Gates in 300 and the Sin City ambush in Old Town when Dwight trades Jacky-Boy's head for Gail. In this case Dwight = Leonidas.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet... GO! Do NOT wait for DVD! See it in all its bloody glory on the big screen!
March 16 Tips for Orb Whores and other news
March 13 Trixiecasts times twohello there, in case you just can't get enough of my voice (hi Dad) here are two places you can hear it.
Gamergirlsradio. (This was recorded back in December. Apparently it was aging like a fine wine) Click on Latest Podcasts. LINK
XBL Radio's Marketplace Minute. If you wanna fast forward the Texas Twosome, I'm on around minute 58. LINK March 09 GDC parties FTWI hope you won't hate me for it, but I passed on the chance to sneak into Sony's party on Wednesday night. Though I later heard reports that it was fun. Instead we (Kitty and I) went to the AMD party at Asia de Cuba in the Clift hotel. There were many shots of Patron and laps were sat in that probably should have been left alone. Then on to XYX at the W for networking and asskissing.
Thursday night we hit Microsoft's Women in Gaming party which is thrown every year by MS's diversity peeps. It was super fun. Shane Kim, Laura Fryer and Kiki Wolfkill said profound words and then I went up and squeaked some nonsense about GamerchiX--but at least I didn't swear!! I was so thrilled to meet my fellow GamerchiX who came out to represent: Lia Tortilla, iTara PMS, MechAngel, Dancing Erika, Batgirl PMS and PMS Tart joined Kitty and myself in these hideous last minute tshirts I had made.
On to the XNA event! Sushi was yum, music was great. I saw a lot of old pals that I haven't seen since last GDC, and met some cool new people and some jerks as well. Seriously, I totally love my job and there are great people, but how many hours can you be pinched, groped, an ogled before you get pissed off? The answer is three. The last straw was when a random dude from EA Canada stuck his tongue down my throat! My big Xbox bros Mark and Mark said they'd have him thrown out, but I don't need that kinda trouble.
Oh yeah, one of the coolest things to come out of GDC this year is Simian Escape! It's one of the XNA challenge games and it looks like the cave paintings at Lescaux have run amok. Check it out!
March 05 Shamrock Shakes and JackassesLast night I had a shamrock shake from McDonald's. It reminded me that on my first day at my very first job, the Shamrock Shake machine splooched all over my nifty blue pin-striped McDonald's uniform. That brought up weird memories of the trials and tribs at the Golden Arches when I was 16. I was the only girl who closed at night, and back then I'd never heard of sexual harrassment. MAN if I knew then what I know now... I was half-laughing, half-cringing as I told Bald Snail and dammy about how the guys used to have contests to see who could toss a dishrag down my shirt, or the way my 19-year old boss would, when I asked what he wanted me to do next, would say "I want to see you naked, Trixie." Nice, huh? Ah, the good ol' days.
I was feeling pretty good about how times had changed and how I'm not a shy high school girl anymore who would rather take abuse than make waves. Then I got these two messages from a member of the community:
Message 1: WTF TRIXIE! I know you banned my brother's account. It said he was banned to the year 2100 or something....are you f*cking kidding me? I KNOW IT WAS YOU!!!!
Message 2: If you don't unban him I'm filing a complaint to Microsoft for your abuse in your power. I mean come on! Are you seriously this ignorant? Just because someone makes an account on my computer doesn't mean it's me.
First of all, I have ZERO idea who this jackass or his brother could be. I haven't banned anyone in weeks. AND I'm not a big fan of being threatened--especially for something I didn't have anything to do with.
So, I suppose the moral of the story boys and girls is that there is nothing new under the sun, be they Assistant Managers at McDonald's named Dave or random freaks on Live the jackasses just keep jackassing. Tallyho.
